TADENI BALOGUN

Tadeni Balogun is the Company Secretary/Director, Legal. She is an experienced Corporate Commercial Lawyer, Governance Professional, and Legal and Trust Advisor with over 21 years of post-qualification experience with core competencies spanning legal advisory, trust administration, capital markets, Estate Planning, Business Development, Stakeholder Engagement, Policy Development and Workplace Risk Mitigation.

Before joining Cedrus Microfinance Bank, Tadeni held key leadership positions across prominent organizations. She served as Company Secretary and Head of Legal at IBILE Holdings Limited, the investment company of the Lagos State Government, and as Company Secretary at Nestoil Limited, a foremost indigenous oil and gas company in Nigeria.

She was also the pioneer Managing Director of a Trust Company, where she successfully led the execution and administration of complex, regulated capital market transactions, including Subnational Bonds, Corporate Bonds, and Collective Investment Schemes.

Earlier in her career, Tadeni was Head of Public Trust at United Capital Trustees Limited, where she oversaw trust mandates valued at over ₦5 trillion, covering capital market and real estate transactions. Her tenure also included strategic roles as Head of Legal Services and Head of Collective Investment Schemes.

Tadeni holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Jos. She has also completed executive education at the Singapore Management University, where she earned an Executive Certificate, and has undertaken several advanced legal and business training programs to further deepen her professional capabilities. She is a Chartered Secretary and a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association, the Young Directors’ Forum of the Chartered Institute of Directors (YDF-cIOD), the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and Fellow, Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers (IAPM).

In her role, she provides expert counsel to the Board and executive management on legal strategy, risk management, revenue protection, and the implementation of robust governance frameworks.
