As the Chief Risk Officer, Peter brings over 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. He has successfully implemented robust risk management frameworks that align with business objectives, ensuring operations remain within acceptable risk thresholds while enabling sustainable growth.

Peter’s career spans across key leadership roles in reputable financial institutions, where he has consistently demonstrated the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, develop effective mitigation strategies, and foster a culture of accountability and risk awareness. His strategic mindset and analytical strength have earned him recognition for driving organizational resilience through sound risk governance.

He is the Pioneer Chief Risk & Compliance of Cedrus Africa SME, before moving to Cedrus Microfinance Bank.
In his current role, he oversees the end-to-end risk management functions, identifying, evaluating, and monitoring risks across all business units. He works closely with senior management to develop the organization’s risk appetite framework, implement effective controls, and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards. His vision is to embed risk management as a strategic enabler, not just a control function.

Peter is deeply committed to continuous improvement and excellence. He is a Certified Data Protection Officer, a Certified Microfinance Banker (MCIB), an Associate Member of the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria (CRMI). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Statistics from the University of Ibadan and has undergone numerous executive trainings in risk, compliance, internal control, and cybersecurity.
